And what a party it was! We kept it simple for their number one and just had a quiet family get together at Aunt Michele and Ana's house. With wonderful food and incredible cake it was a great way to celebrate such a huge milestone. The slideshow below is just a few of the photos from the day.

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY!!!!!

In the day to day of life, with constant to-do's and little sleep, we sometimes forget just how far we've come.

As the boys celebrate their first birthday on April 21, we certainly will stop and give a huge and hearty thanks to anyone listening for having two, healthy and (usually) very happy little boys.


What an amazing journey it's been so far. And we couldn't have made it this far without the love and support of our friends and family. So a huge and hearty thanks to all of you too!!

Just when we thought we'd get out of this winter alive. In the last two weeks another two illnesses struck the household which resulted in the boys' fourth ear infection of the winter and equal number of antibiotics, and:

• Three times that I had to pick the boys up early from daycare due to illness (once was projectile vomiting, another was for a 102.9 temp, and the third was a combination of the two)
• five doctor's visits
• four days off work
• one whopper of a cough for Todd

Careful where you step around here, that may be a lung...

But we have faith that this too shall pass and we'll soon be able to look at new parents and say with wisdom, "ah yes, that first year is always the hardest."

I told you so

Or so I've been told. Prior to starting this blog, Todd asked, "Are you sure you want to? The time is going to come when you won't be able to keep it up." "Pshaw," I responded. How hard could it be? Well, given that my last post was January 31, apparently a heck-of-a lot harder than I thought.

The plague has swept through our house. Again and again. And again. The four of us have literally been sick since mid-January. Between illnesses and our commuting routine (who ever thought I'd not only get up regularly at 5:15am, but still function throughout the day), time has simply disappeared.

So, for anyone that might still think to check this, I'll try to keep a little more current with photos. Particularly as the boys seem like they're growing overnight (23lbs and 20lbs and not even a year yet).
